Could you create a Test Universe and see if you're able to connect to it?
Also, you said the version of Crystal Reports for Enterprise is SP05 Patch4. What is the version of BI 4.0? Is the same Patch Level?
Did the Universe in question ever work on any previous patch of CR for Enterprise?
