Re: Parallel Valuation/Currency & COPA

Hi Udo,

Thanks for your reply. We have already activated cost splits in controlling area currency.

The issue we have here is that in standard costing valuation, we get differences in COGS  between FI and PA for valuation at standard. In FI, COGS is posted based on valuation in Material Masters where we have set up parallel valuations. As mentioned above. However, PA translates the COGS value to Controlling Area currency at the point of transfer as you mentioned.

Example:

P rate: 1 USD = 10000 IDR

M rate: 1 USD = 10500 IDR

Standard cost of product:

Legal Valuation, Legal Currency : 100000 IDR

Legal Valuation, Group Currency: 10 USD

Group Valuation, Group Currency: 10 USD (assuming this is 3rd party purchased FERT)

This is what we observed in COGS:

1. In FI, COGS is posted according to the above valuation and currency.

2. In PA, the COGS value in group currency is 9.52 USD. It seems that COPA is not taking the value  directly from parallel valuation but from translation at the point of posting. This gives a difference between FI and PA which aware not able to reconcile.

Is this standard SAP?

Thanks for your reply.
