We are getting the 'Error retrieving Data' message when running a BPC Report that retrieving around 30,000 rows of records from the server. We do not get this message everytime it tends to happen randomly. One thing we figured out was if we clear the local application Cache from Client options in BPC the report seems to work fine for the next few iterations before we start getting the errors again.
We were initially thinking it's a memory issue on the server side but we are not getting any ST22 dumps or any sort of error messages in the back-end.
So we moved our focus on tracking the information inflow/outflow between client and server through Fiddler.
What I saw and found interesting was, even on the instance of the run when I got an error message, the fiddler logs showed that all data was retrieved from the server. To confirm that I compared a fiddler log from a successful run with a log of an unsuccessful run and the logs were exactly the same. Thus I infer that the data is correctly being sent to the client from the server but that's where we are facing random issues.This issue seems to go away when I clear the local client cache but then returns if I run another 1-2 iterations of the report.
Have any of you experienced the same issue. If yes how were you able to resolve this. Clearing the cache is fine but we really can't tell the user to keep clearing their cache every few minutes. Do let me know. Really need your inputs.
