You may have to use a custom UOM.  The issue is that the type of UOM you are trying to use really shouldn't allow decimals. 

 

An Piece  is 1.  Not .25, not .5.  You can't sell half of an each.  It can't be inventoried that way.  If it can be, than I would say your BUOM is incorrect for the item. 

 

For instance, we can have this problem in chemicals.  If you define a 55-gallon drum as a UOM of EA, you can obviously have part drums.  But places do this a lot. Then they have problems like you describe.  But you could set up DR as a UOM that would allow decimals.  Or you can define it as KG or LB which would allow decimals as well.  Of course these are ordered usually by DR so you have to have proper conversion factors between DR and KG(or LB) which can lead to inventory issues with decimal dust.

 

In any case, I think your real problem is your design and what you've chosen to use a UOM.
